Case Study
Supporting Large-Scale Offshore Decommissioning with Diaquip Diamond Wire
Client
Project
Industry
Overview
Using its 16-inch ROV Diamond Wire Saw in combination with the client’s remotely operated vehicle (ROV), Mactech successfully completed more than 200 subsea cuts using Diaquip diamond wire.
The Challenge
Large-scale offshore decommissioning places significant demands on cutting equipment and consumables. Working at depths of up to 6,500 feet leaves limited opportunities to inspect or replace consumables, while vessel time and offshore intervention can significantly increase project costs. With more than 200 cuts to complete, dependable wire performance was essential.
The Diaquip Solution
Diaquip supplied the diamond wire used by Mactech throughout the project. Selected for dependable performance in demanding offshore environments, the wire supported Mactech’s 16-inch ROV Diamond Wire Saw, helping deliver smooth, consistent cutting across a high-volume subsea cutting campaign.
The Results
Working with its global client, Mactech successfully completed the project using its ROV Diamond Wire Saw and Diaquip diamond wire.
